Course Description

If you’re ready to build expert-level data analysis and visualization skills with Tableau Desktop, you’ve come to the right place.

This course is a hands-on and project-based dive deep into several advanced Tableau topics, ranging from data relationships and calculations to predictive analytics and dynamic design techniques. As always, we’ll be applying these tools to real-world business intelligence use cases every step of the way.

You’ll be playing the role of a newly hired analyst for Maven Roasters, a bespoke, small batch coffee roasting company. Your mission? Use advanced analytics and visual design tools to take the company’s BI reports to the next level.

We’ll kick things off by digging into relationships and Tableau’s data model, exploring topics like logical vs. physical layers, contextual joins, smart aggregation, and performance optimization.

From there we’ll introduce a range of powerful visualization and design tools, including custom templates, dynamic formats, animations, parameter & set actions, and geospatial mapping.

Last but not least, we’ll cover advanced calculations like RegEx and custom LOD expressions, along with powerful predictive analytics tools like regression, forecasting, clustering, and much, much more.

Throughout the course, you’ll come across unique opportunities to put your new skills to the test, like analyzing employee earnings for the Boston Police Department, building forecast models for the World Health Organization, and designing geospatial dashboards to help FEMA identify environmental risks.

Whether you’re an aspiring BI professional or just looking to take your Tableau skills to the next level, this is the course for you.

An excellent course that built on what we learned in a previous course. I now have a much deeper understanding of Tableau Desktop and I am keen to build dashboards in Tableau and publish them to practice what I learned in the course.

Andrew Hubbard

Advanaced Tableau is AWESOME! See Dustin Cabral at his best as he guides you along throughout course! Dustin certainly shows what can be done in Tableau, I loved it all the way. Fantastic course for anyone that really wants to up their level in Tableau, or wants to see what can be done using Tableau. Highly Recommended! Great course, great content, great training! thank you Maven & thank you very much Dustin!

Sean Tom Ryan

Advanced Tableau Desktop sets apart from other courses. Dustin goes deep into not just fine tuning of charts but, leveraging on his experience, presents a variety of options and solutions which go beyond just the scope of the course and help you develop your analytical skills. Furthermore, there is a comprehensive project in which you develop your skills applying concept familiar to many manufacturing/distributing companies (a plus you can clearly spend in your next interview!) and the homework are all independent case study that expose you to different scenario you might encounter as a data analyst. Absolutely mind blowing, as you can play for hours and derive many projects for your portfolio. Absolutely recommendable to those looking to expand knowledge of Tableau
